COVID Information

3/1/22

Good evening RUSD staff and families.

This evening, the Racine Common Council approved the end to the city of Racine’s facemask ordinance. Therefore, RUSD will move forward with the following changes effective immediately.

  • Facemasks will be recommended but optional for all students, staff and visitors to RUSD buildings.
  • Facemasks will be recommended but optional on school buses.
  • Facemasks will continue to be available for students and staff at each school and on school buses.
  • COVID mitigation strategies including physical distancing to the extent possible, handwashing, building cleaning protocol, self-screening, etc. will continue.

Please continue to support the health and wellness of our students and staff by staying home if you are not feeling well. Click here for the daily self-screening checklist. We also provide on-site COVID testing at three RUSD schools and continue to host vaccine clinics at school sites.

Throughout the pandemic, we have consistently worked with our local health departments, following both local and federal guidance to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and families. We will continue to do this while closely monitoring our data to ensure we are making safe and informed decisions.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
