RUSD parents won't have to worry about helping their kids with math or even proofing papers this year. That's because the District is getting on-demand academic support thanks to a $100,000 grant from TutorMe.
TutorMe is an online tutoring platform that provides free, 24/7 access to live tutors in more than 300 subjects. Both English and Spanish-speaking tutors are available. The Los Angeles-based company selected RUSD to receive the grant from a pool of national applicants.
Janell Decker, Deputy Chief Academic Officer, says the grant will not only help students behind in reading and math due to pandemic-related disruptions, but also help address existing learning gaps.
Here’s how it works: students log into Classlink, click the TutorMe icon and connect with a live tutor in less than 30 seconds. In addition, students can upload papers to TutorMe’s Writing Lab to receive feedback.
