The Making a Difference Day tradition continues! Every year, each homegroup from Walden III Middle & High School goes somewhere in Racine to make a difference in the community. For the second year in a row, one group visited Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary to give back! The older students spent two hours reading stories, playing games and simply spending time with the younger students.
This particular homegroup initially chose to visit Jefferson Lighthouse because one of the seniors in the group wanted to give back to the elementary school that had been such a positive influence on her as an elementary student. This year, the homegroup has another senior who attended Jefferson for elementary school. Staff from both schools say it’s neat to see the older students and their former teachers reconnect.
