No two people follow the same path, and RUSD’s students are no exception. The Academies of Racine are designed to take students on a journey to discover their interests, try new things and make an informed decision about what they want to do after high school. That journey to college or career starts in the Freshman Academy where students research careers that align with their interests, participate in SEE Your Future Expo and explore post-secondary options before declaring a chosen pathway. Their sophomore year, AoR students really start to get immersed in different industries through strategic site tours that align with their chosen pathways, juniors dive deeper with job shadows and seniors are challenged to tackle real-world problems, working alongside professional mentors.

The Academies of Racine offer smaller, personalized learning environments, a focus on 21st-century skills and a culture of teamwork, critical thinking, collaboration and creativity. The Middle School Academies are all about helping students discover what makes them tick! Strategic courses help students determine how they learn best and what they’re really passionate about. By the time they transition to high school, students will have taken three years of hands-on classes to give them a head start in high school, explored the career pathways offered in high school and developed skills that will help them be great citizens. Our ultimate goal is for students to leave the Middle School Academies high school ready with higher academic success, more community awareness and involvement, and more self-awareness.
