Providing opportunities for student success outside the traditional classroom in rigorous leading edge ways through personal virtual coursework and mentorship.
What does a typical day look like in the virtual learning environment?
Our Virtual Learning program is available to all students enrolled in Racine Unified School District from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Students meet for a daily Morning Meeting for 30 minutes to engage in activities and social interactions with their grade level peers. Students are guided by teachers to complete their daily online course work in English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, and become competent independent learners. Students in Virtual Learning also have Art, Music and Physical Education classes provided in a remote (live) platform. Students have access to their grade level teacher throughout the school day, to assist students with their coursework, as there are dedicated elementary teachers to work on core content based on student need. Additionally, Virtual Learning has a full-time special education teacher that meets with students who have IEPs, on a regular basis, being able to service most Special Education students virtually.
