The Racine Unified School District (RUSD) was recently honored by the Wisconsin School Public Relations Association (WSPRA) with two Spectrum Awards of Excellence for its work in school communications.
WSPRA presented the Spectrum Awards at its annual conference held November 13-15. RUSD earned an Award of Excellence for its ‘Say It Ain’t Snow: Social Media Gone Right’ campaign, as well as an Award of Excellence in the Special Purpose Campaign category for ‘You Belong Here: Attendance Matters.’
Spectrum Awards recognize high-quality school communication and engagement efforts by or on behalf of Wisconsin school districts. This year, this statewide competition honored over 80 school districts and CESAs with awards.
“The dedication and creativity in these projects are shining examples of the exceptional work happening in school public relations,” Emily DeBaker, Wisconsin School Public Relations Association President said. “Recognizing and celebrating this amazing work not only honors district achievements but also inspires others to continue telling the powerful stories of our schools and communities. We thank these hard-working school PR pros for setting the standard and reminding us all of the impact great communication can have."
WSPRA’s Spectrum Awards were judged by members of other school public relations associations in 20 different states, from New York to California.
