Tonight, the RUSD Board of Education approved placing a referendum on the April 1 ballot. The proposed 5-year, $190 million non-recurring referendum would: - Prevent cutting programs like the Academies of Racine and protect smaller class sizes - Attract and retain excellent teachers and staff who are essential for delivering high-quality education - Invest in the safety and security of our schools This referendum is needed because for more than a decade state funding has fallen short, and more and more districts are forced to pass referendums to balance budgets. Want to know more? Visit www.rusd.org/referendum.
