Our Construction Pathway has been working on building a Tiny Home for an organization that houses veterans in need. The house they are currently working on will be a show home to bring to fundraising events, such as the County Fair.

Opportunity for student artists
Fine Arts Camp
Sunday, June 22 - Friday June 27, 2025
This is an overnight (or commuter) opportunity for high school-aged student artists (including graduating seniors) to immerse themselves in college-level instruction. Campers rank the workshops they would like to participate in.
Each studio discipline will hold a 4-hour session of instruction per day. With 8 hours of daily instruction, our student participants will have approximately 48 hours of college-level instruction by the close of camp. A closing reception/art exhibition will be held on Friday afternoon as a final showcase for the artists and parents.
The camp instructors are all full-time faculty members of the Art & Design Department at UW-Whitewater.
Painting: Reverse Painting Technique by Associate Professor Gregory Porcaro
Ceramics: Creating Small-scale Ceramic Sculpture and Vessel Forms by Associate Professor Jared Janovec
Bookmaking: The Sketchbook by Academic Staff Professor Lillian Handley
2D Digital Fundamentals: Becoming a Digital Artist by Professor Xiaohong Zhang

About the Scholarship: In an effort to promote educational opportunities to Latino youth that live in Racine County, the Por La Gente Association has established the Latino Athletic Scholarship, Latino Academic and the Latino Community Scholarship to be awarded to area high school students. To qualify, applicants must: (1) be of Latino descent, (2) be a Racine County resident, (3) be in their final year of high school and (4) scheduled to attend a post-secondary institution on a full-time basis beginning the ensuing fall semester. The application due date is Monday, March 3rd, 2025.
