Our collective goal for Knapp students is that they experience the joy of learning, are inspired to great achievement, and become positive contributors to our community. We know that our students are more than just their academics. As a community school, we offer programs that support the whole child including school-based mental health services and high quality extended learning programs. We also offer programs for families and adults in our neighborhood. Our goal is to lift everyone up together, using our school as the hub of our community.

Please stop by & see what we have to offer - our doors are open!

I am the Directing Principal of Knapp Elementary.  As a former student and educator here, I am extremely excited to come back "home" and be a part of the turnaround that I know is coming for this Community School.  I feel fortunate to have spent my entire professional career working for RUSD as I love the community of Racine and believe in the positive direction that we are heading.  Your child is very fortunate to attend Knapp Elementary as I firmly believe that we have the hardest working, most passionate, student-centered group of individuals that you will find in an elementary school.  We are excited to begin this journey with you and your child and ask for your help and support during the coming days, weeks, and months.  I encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year at 262-664-8000.  Let's have a great year and Go Cubs!

I am the Assistant Principal at Knapp Elementary. I have lived in Racine my entire life and attended all RUSD schools, graduating from Horlick HS in 1987. I attended UW-Milwaukee to obtain both my bachelor's in elementary education and my masters in administration. I began my teaching career at Knapp in 1993, worked in multiple positions within the district, and have now returned to the best school in the city as the assistant principal. I believe in our students, and I believe in our staff.  Working as a part of this team is a privilege. We welcome our families and believe that with a team effort, including parents and our highly qualified staff, all students will succeed.
