Racine Unified School District’s public school buildings comprise approximately 3.3 million square feet of space on over 389 acres of land. The Office of Operations, utilizing a comprehensive data-driven decision-making process codified in the District’s Long-Range Facilities Master Plan, is working to ensure healthy, safe, environmentally sound facilities that are well maintained to support a high-quality education for our students. 

The RUSD Office of Operations, led by the Chief Operations Officer, maintains all District facilities to help create effective, efficient, quality learning environments. In addition to the RUSD Aquatic Center, the Office of Operations’ departments include:

Facilities Operations

Responsible for daily cleaning and basic maintenance of all District facilities via the hard and dedicated work of our Engineers and Custodians.

Facility Planning

Responsible for the daily coordination, implementation and maintenance of the District’s Long-Range Facilities Master Plan.

Maintenance

Responsible for daily and preventative maintenance of all District sites via the hard and dedicated work of our skilled trades team - carpenters, electricians, maintenance technicians, groundskeepers, HVAC specialists, mechanics, painters, plumbers, environmental safety specialist, and fire technician. The maintenance department also oversees the District’s central warehouse team and provides oversight of the District’s fleet vehicles.
