Studies have shown that books contain many words children are unlikely to encounter regularly in spoken language and contain 50% more rare words than primetime TV or even college students’ conversations. So grab and book and get reading to your kids today! Here are a few places you can find a free book - or five!
- Imagination Library: Imagination Library mails Racine County children under age five one book every month for FREE! The first book arrives approximately 90 days after the child is registered. Register today here.
- RUSD students can also access free books through ClassLink. Just look for Sora, Raz-Kids, Ed and Newsela. Learn more about Sora here (En Español)
- RUSD Family Resource Centers: Grab a free book at one of RUSD's Family Resource Centers! Our families with students attending any one of our Title I schools are welcome to pick up a book or two any time the Family Resource Centers are open. There are books for all ages and titles that follow a monthly theme keeping the supply fresh! While you're there, don't forget to explore all the other resources available to families in our Family Resource Centers.
