What is Title I?

placeholder

The designation of Title I Schools indicates that the school is at or above the District’s average poverty rate.

School-wide programs allow the school to address the educational needs of all children so every student achieves high levels of academic proficiency. All staff, resources and classes are part of the overall school-wide programs.

The purpose is to generate high levels of academic achievement in core subject areas for all students, especially those students most in need. This program at RUSD also provides Title I services to multiple nonpublic schools in Racine County such as parochial, voucher and charter. Students at these schools receive Title I reading and/or math services only if their home school would have been a Title I school and they need the additional services.
