Special Education Services

The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team will discuss and determine services provided to each individual student based on evaluation results.

The following options are available:

  • Early Childhood Classrooms: Provides services in our RUSD facilities for students ages 3 to 5 who experience developmental delays
  • Preschool Options: Provides services in the community for students ages 3 to 5 who experience developmental delays
  • Speech/Language Classrooms: Provides services for students ages 3 to 5 who experience speech and language delays
  • Inclusive Classrooms: Provides services for students ages 3 to 21 within the general education environment
  • Structured Learning Classrooms (FASC & EBSC): Provide services that focus on behavioral, academic or functional needs for students ages 3 to 21 within a special education environment
  • Speech and Language: Provides services for students ages 3 to 21 who experience speech and language delays
  • Hearing Impaired: Provides services for students ages 3 to 21 who experience hearing impairments
  • Visually Impaired: Provides services for students ages 3 to 21 who experience visual impairments
  • Community Based Transition Programs: Provides services for students ages 18 to 21 within the community to develop life skills, job skills and recreational skills

Other Services Include:

  • Occupational therapy (fine motor/sensory skills)
  • Physical therapy (large motor skills)
  • Specially designed physical education (adaptive physical education)
  • Orientation and mobility (visual impairment)
  • Audiology (hearing)
  • Educational interpreter (hearing)
  • Psychological services
  • School health services (school nurse)
  • Social worker
  • Assistive technology
  • Transportation
