In a world of computers, Google meets and WiFi, there's something almost magical about a good old fashioned hand-written letter these days. Especially if that letter was written by a child.

Students at Goodland Montessori are honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy by evoking the power of the written word.

As part of their Virtues Program, students and teachers wrote thank you letters to healthcare workers for their service and courage this past year. These letters sported messages of thanks, hope and love - with hand-drawn hearts and words like heroes.

On Monday, Goodland Montessori PTA President Carmen Ayers, daughter Celeste and Goodland Montessori Principal Lisa Johnson delivered the box of letters to Ascension Hospital along with PTA donated snacks for these frontline workers.
