SWIM LESSONS

Registration Page Link

Swim lessons are available to everyone, regardless of whether they are part of the RUSD school district or area. Our instructors are certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. We cater to the needs of the student to the best of our ability.

In circumstances such as mechanical failure or weather conditions, we will contact you via email about possible make-up days or cancellations.

Group Lessons

For group lessons, we are currently only teaching levels 1-4. The ages that we teach are 3–16 years old

Swim Assessments
A swim assessment is needed to ensure that the student is taking the course that is appropriate for their age and ability. After a swim assessment, the student will be assigned a level and age group that will be appropriate for their capabilities. A swim assessment is needed to obtain an assigned group and level on Recdesk. An assigned group and level are required to enroll in group classes.

(Dolphins 1 members can only enroll in Dolphins 1 classes, etc.).

To obtain an assigned group and level, you would need to complete a swim assessment. If you are registering and have not been assessed with us Recdesk will not allow you to register. No purchase is necessary.

Groups (ages)
Minnows (3-5)
Sunfish (6-8)
Dolphins (9-13)

Assessment Day:

To be determined

(updated 3/26/24)

Red Cross Levels

The Learn-to-Swim program focuses on building skills one step at a time. By allowing them to master one element before moving on to the next, our kids' swim classes make it easy to build confidence in the water.

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable and safely enjoy the water.
Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills.
Level 3: Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills.

For example, lessons may be listed, such as
Sunfish 2
This indicates that this class is for the age group of 6–8 years old and for those who are at the level 2 skill level.

Private Lessons

It is designed to individualize the student's needs to improve their swimming skills. No assessment is required to join private lessons. At the end of the session, each student will receive the appropriate level of membership so they can enroll in group classes in the future.

Parent-Toddler Lessons

Join us in an instructor-led lesson with you and your child. Start to get your child comfortable in the water and give them a head start on learning to swim. Classes are for 6 months through 2 years old. A parent or guardian must be in the water with the swimmer for every class.
