Here at Julian Thomas we strive to create a whirlwind of knowledge for our students. As our school song says, “We’re a real big school, with a real big heart. We’re a real old school with a brand new start. Everybody learns and does their part. We’re a real big school with a real big heart.” Our staff prides themselves on doing everything they can to meet the needs of our students.
Julian Thomas Elementary is one of the original school buildings of Racine, WI. It was originally named the Fifth Ward School (1855- 1891), then it was renamed Garfield School (1891-2003). The school was closed for renovations and finally reopened as Julian Thomas Elementary School (2003-Present) named after a local civil rights activist.
