Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program sponsored by the Racine Public Library that is designed to promote a love of reading among fourth and fifth grade students in Racine County. Teams of students are expected to read and become knowledgeable about the characters, plot and setting from a list of selected books.
Meets are held in the spring at the public library where team members are asked random questions about each title. The team with the highest score among all participating teams is declared the champion.
The new Battle of the Books list is available at the end of each school year to allow students to begin reading over the summer for the upcoming season . For more information contact: VaLisa Harmon
