Welcome to Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary School!
As one of only eight Wisconsin schools authorized as an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, we have a comprehensive instructional program that supports the academic and social-emotional growth of your child(ren). The IB Primary Years Programme is a rigorous program that strives for all students to be: 1) inquirers, 2) knowledgeable, 3) thinkers, 4) communicators, 5) principled, 6) open-minded, 7) caring, 8) risk-takers, 9) balanced, and 10) reflective. In addition, the IB focuses on a transdisciplinary approach, connecting all content areas together, and understanding how they work in local and global contexts.
Our mission at Jefferson is to have “internationally-minded learners inquire, collaborate, and take action.” Educating the whole child is of utmost importance to us. In addition to high academic expectations, we offer a variety of specialists, foreign language, and PTA-organized events. We strive to offer a first-class K-5 education for all of our students.
