The Academies of Racine Gifford

The Academies at Gifford provide 6th-8th grade students the opportunity to explore, engage, and connect with careers and learning programs to help them discover their passions and interests. Throughout the year, students can learn from guest speakers, educational learning opportunities, field trips, web programs, and hands-on learning experiences. Each student takes an academy course in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade to help them understand personal and community awareness, career pathways, financial responsibilities, cyber safety, and more. In 7th and 8th grade students are also offered multiple CTE choice courses to further develop their interests. Certifications are available in certain courses, upon successful completion.  The goal by the end of the 8th-grade year is that students will be high school ready, with a foundation of knowledge that will help them be prepared for the next step in their academic and personal journey.
